How to apply bronzer

March 13, 2017 | Articles, How to ... & Tutorials | Leave a Comment

Applying bronzerDid you know that applying bronzer to your skin can give you a nice healthy-looking sun-kissed glow, even if you haven’t seen the sun in months!

Unfortunately, if it has been incorrectly applied or if the bronzer product is too dark for your skin tone, it can have the opposite effect, making your complexion look muddy or ruddy.

The saying “less is more” definitely applies when using bronzer and it’s best to start off with a little on your brush, adding more if or where necessary.  Removing excess product is tricky if too much has been initially applied.

applying bronzer in a 3To get the best effect from your bronzer apply it with a contouring brush using a number 3 shape over your face.  Start with the top of the 3 on the edge of your forehead. Bring the brush around your eye, over your temple and down under your cheekbone, to create the middle of the 3. Continue sweeping the brush back towards your ear before moving it out and around the outer edge of your jawbone, ending with the bottom of the ‘3’ along your lower jaw.

Avoid using bronzer all over your face.  It is not a replacement for loose or compact powder when you’re setting your foundation (yes, I have seen people do this).  Putting bronzer all over your face will give you more of a muddy-looking fake tan effect and will draw attention away from any contouring or highlighting that you may have done. Too much bronzer can also age you, making you look older instead of giving you a youthful sun-kissed glow.

Just remember that bronzer is there to help accentuate your features.  Treat it with the respect that it deserves, use it with a light hand and it could become one of your favorite products.

This is BNZ's latest Payap ad - their answer to avoiding surcharges when making payments.

My EFTPOS terminal has automatically been updated to accept Payap / Centrapay payments, so if you've got the app on your phone, let me know when we ring up your payment.

🙄 Nail art fail.
At least it was on my own nails.
