5 Ways to use Lip Liner

December 16, 2019 | Articles, How to ... & Tutorials | Leave a Comment

Lip liners define the lips and help prevent lipstick from “bleeding” into cracks and fine lines, while helping your lipstick last longer. Lip liners can be used to outline the lips before applying lipstick.  Alternatively, you can create a “stain” under your lipstick or lip gloss by lining your lips and then coloring the lips…

Continuing on on from last month’s article on pencil eyeliner, I thought I’d continue with the eyeliner theme and do a comparison between gel and liquid eyeliner. Gel eyeliner is a creamy product that comes packaged in a small pot, and once applied, looks just like liquid eyeliner.  Liquid eyeliner is liquid, hence the name,…

I bought my e.l.f. Small Stipple Brush from Kmart, and it has a unique two-layer two-tone black and white bristle design that adds soft, textured layers, which help to create an airbrushed effect when used to apply foundation.   The brush makes it easy to create a sheer to light application by swirling the brush…

Pencil Eyeliners have been around for years, they’re cheap and are easier to apply than liquid or gel eyeliners, but if you find your pencil eyeliner isn’t going on smoothly it may be because its cold and waxy and just needs to be warmed up a little.  The easiest way to do this is to…

I'm often asked if I do dip or dipping nails (like I'm often asked if I do dip or dipping nails (like SNS) or do acrylics. The short answer is no, I don't. I have various reasons why I don't offer a dipping system, and I stopped using acrylic when PolyGel became available a few years back.

What is PolyGel?
PolyGel is a hybrid between acrylic and hard gel - hard gel is used for extensions, it it not gel polish, gel polish is classed as a soft gel.
It has the strength of acrylic with the flexibility of hard gel, along with being really lightweight. Artistic Putty (PolyGel) is 23% lighter than acrylic, and 16% lighter than hard gel, with no sacrifice to durability, so it feels a lot less bulky than traditional acrylic enhancements. PolyGel can be applied as an overlay, or sculpted over tips or forms, and is backfilled to maintain it - just like acrylic - and the added bonus ... there's no stinky chemical smell!

For a comparison between hard gel, PolyGel and acrylic, read more this article: https://www.ramblingrose.co.nz/gel-vs-acrylic-nails
